Mike Grimaldo: Worship Pastor
Mike was born and raised in beautiful Napa Valley. Mike had an early introduction to music as his father and several members of his father’s family were very accomplished musicians. “I can remember being a young boy attending revival meetings where my dad led the worship and my grandfather did the speaking. I remember witnessing what I now know to have been the moving of God’s Spirit during those meetings. There were people dancing and shouting with their hands lifted high in praise. As a young boy I was confused, but I knew that whatever was causing this response intrigued me.” Mike embarked on his own musical journey at the age of 12 when he picked up his first pair of drum sticks. “My father was leading the worship for a small church in Gualala, California where we had moved. They didn’t have a drummer, so one Sunday morning I just got brave and decided I would give it a shot!” What started out with the potential of a “major train wreck” became the open door through which Mike would have his most intimate times with God. Many years later (in June of 2010) Mike was offered the position of Worship Pastor at Bethel. “It has been an incredible journey to this point and only continues to get better with time. My desire is to see the worship team at Bethel writing their own songs, growing the next generation of worship leaders, and creating the sounds that will attract the ears of our Bethel family for generations to come. Many great things are on the horizon of our ministry and I feel blessed to have been given the opportunity to lead the charge!” In September of 2010 Mike married, “the most amazingly beautiful and loving bride”, Angela Grimaldo. Mike and Angela are now the proud parents of Mikey Jr.!!!
